Everytime I see this poster – in Metro stations, in shop windows and magazines – I can’t help but ask myself if this really is a fashion-thinking swimsuit for parading about in?
I do actually quite like it, but can only see it being worn as a top with black skinny jeans. I can’t imagine any girl walking along the beach dressed in this – unless she going spear-fishing or diving!
On the other hand, I could also see some oiled-up busty page three stunner wearing it with her boys out, but never as an actual beach outfit. It’s a showing off piece, innit!
If you’re like me, you’ll probably think Tilda Swinton is a bit wierd!
I don’t know if it’s her off-key, yet slightly fascinating dress sense, the fact she looks like Ziggy Stardust or just because she was a bit wierd in The Beach, but yeah, she’s really odd!
Anyway, Tilda has reduced oddness, by gaining fashion points and fronting the premiere edition of new transversal style magazine, ‘Candy’. I haven’t got a clue what ‘transversal’ means, but she looks awesome in a Florence Welch type way! Ferosh!

Earlier today, glittery glamour puss and all round disco diva, Donna Summer, passed away. Donna will be remembered for the infectious beats and her soulfully seductive voice, which set the backdrop to millions of memorable nights since the late 70′s!
She’s had her ups and she more than had her fair share of downs, but things are looking up for old Britters!
Britney has never really fully recovered from her breakdown. Lets face it folks she’s a bit of a false puppet these days. She can’t sing live – could she ever? She can’t dance for toffee! And she wreaks of commerciality! You can take the girl out of the trailer, but you can’t take the trash out of the girl! Saying that, she’s still popular, her records are more than satisfactory and she’s still able to sellout arenas on a global scale. I like her, not a lot, but I like her!
When I heard the news that Britney Spears was in talks with Simon Cowell to co-star as a judge on US X Factor, I laughed. The first thing I thought about on hearing the news was this performance!
Now I know my comments are extremely bitchy and Brtiney has really sorted herself out since 2007, but really, does America really want this woman moulding it’s next big thing? How is she going to mentor her category? Can you imagine her advice? Mime well! Don’t have a breakdown in public! Don’t drive with a baby on your lap!

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this. It’s so trippy to watch Prince Charles (aka, the future King – should the Queen peg it) doing his best Wincy Willis/Ulrika Johnson impression! Wierd! I wonder if we’ll see the Queen reading the news or taking over from Lorraine!
I was just checking out i-D Online and stumbled upon this image of Madonna on the front cover of the March/April 1984 worldwide edition of the magazine. Even though she does resemble Boy George a bit, M looks great striking i-D’s infamous one-eye pose whilst dressed in her traditional heyday rags!
For those of you who have been waiting to download the official remixes of M’s latest single ‘Girl Gone Wild’ in the UK, fear not, the wait is almost over (I think). Monday sees the physical releases hit the shelves – I preordered my copies what feels like ages ago(!), so I’m guessing that as the single/remixes still aren’t available on iTunes UK, they’ll come out on the same day. Fingers crossed!
Anyway, if you can’t wait till Monday, these should keep you going until then!
When Lisa Stansfield released her most well-known single in the late 80′s / early 90′s, ‘Around The World’ become her biggest international hit to date!
Since then, she released a few albums pre-millenium, and a greatest hits package surfaced during the early ’00′s’, but Lisa has more or less disappeared off the face of the earth. I wonder if she’s living in her hometown of Rochdale?!?

The other day I was chatting to my flatmate about how Rihanna is possibly on the edge of selling out. However, I’ve just listened to these two tracks back to back, and do you know what, she’s properly on the money! She’s a really diverse artist.
I thought nothing could top ‘Please Don’t Stop The Music’, then came ‘Rude Boy’, then ‘Only Girl (In The World)’ and then ‘We Found Love’. The tracks keep coming. Yeah, there have been some duffers. ‘Californian King Bed’ wasn’t my cup of tea, and believe it or not ‘Umbrella’ wasn’t really up my street either – saying that, the version she did at the Brit Awards with Klaxon’s was rather special.
On my first listen of her latest single from ‘Talk That Talk’, ‘Where Have You Been’, I wasn’t really overly impressed. Since then I’ve heard it numerous times and now I love it – I know, flippant queen! Yes, it is a bit too ‘charty’ and similar to everything else on the radio at the moment, but like the previous hits I’ve mentioned, it a great pop song!
Not one to shy away from a collaboration, Rihanna has also teamed up with Coldplay on ‘Princess Of China’ which is another great pop song, but in a completely different vein to ‘WHYB’. Chris Martin’s vocal teamed with Rihanna’s is a matched made in perfect pop heaven!
So yes, Rihanna is completely on the money, but I do feel that she’s going to suffer the Lady Gaga effect – too much, too soon quickly, and music lovers are going to lose interest due to overkill!
Note to Rihanna: Take some time out and enjoy your success. Give us a breather and then come back in 18 months with another slice of awesomeness!
Did you know that Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way Ball’ had started? No, niether had I until I made the effort to look it up out of interest! Yes, apparantly it started in Seoul, Korea, sometime last week and has since stopped in Hong Kong too.
As the international press seemed to not pick up on this – I’m on the internet quite often and haven’t seen any reviews at all, I thought I’d have a look at some of the fan videos which I knew they would’ve posted on Youtube as soon as the concert finished.
After all the fuss surrounding the tour and everything I read about how Lady Gaga had apparantly been putting everything into her show, it’s really disappointing. With an elaborate castle as the backdrop to the show, you’d think it that was going to be awesome, but after viewing some of the videos, it appears not much effort has gone into the tour at all.
The dancing is quite poor and Lady Gaga looks like she couldn’t give a shit if she was there or not. It’s a real lacklustre show with a bunch of reworked moves that we’ve seen before. Dry!
Hopefully, if you’ve got tickets, by the time it reaches your neck of the woods, she’ll have gotten a bit more into it.
